Sell a Vacheron Constantin

When you sell a Vacheron Constantin watch to C. Blackburn Jewelers in San Diego, you can be assured of the highest possible price in the shortest amount of time.

One of the world’s finest watch brands, Vacheron Constantin is always included in the “big three” of ultra-high-end Swiss watchmakers, along with Patek Philippe and Audemars Piguet. Known for its high quality movements and traditional, classical values in watchmaking, Vacheron Constantin is the longest continuously-run manufacturer in the industry, operating at the pinnacle of haute horlogerie since 1755.

Due to Vacheron Constantin’s special place within the world of ultra-luxe timepieces, special care must be taken when choosing where to sell a Vacheron Constantin. It should be with a buyer who regularly deals in extraordinary timepieces — a watch buyer who has the knowledge and expertise to provide a fair cash offer based on an accurate appraisal of the watch’s resale value.

History of Vacheron Constantin

The early years of Jean-Marc Vacheron’s Geneva workshop were spent making highly accurate pocket watches, including some with complications as early as the 1790s. Joined by Francois Constantin 1819, the company expanded its exporting efforts and continued with award winning innovations, living up to the company’s motto, “Do better if possible, and that is always possible.”

Vacheron Constantin’s production manager, Georges-Auguste Leschot, developed a pantographic device that could mechanically engrave small watch parts in 1833. This innovation lead to the use of highly accurate interchangeable parts that allowed for the standardization of watch movements still in use today.

Aesthetically, Vacheron Constantin watches have always balanced technical excellence with stylistic boldness. An elaborate, custom pocket watch made for King Faud I of Egypt in 1929 included both multiple complications and the royal arms in detailed enamel. In 1979 the firm created “Kallista,” and extravagantly jewelled masterwork featuring 118 diamonds.

The Vacheron Constantin collections today include a wide variety of the finest watches available. The stylistic purity of the Patrimony’s ultra-thin calibres reflect simple sophistication, while the Overseas collection represents a sporty alternative with a number of complications useful in everyday life.

The range of Vacheron Constantin’s line continues to reflect its own rich history, from the elaborately enamelled Metiers d’Art collection to the elegant Historiques Aronde 1954, a re-imagining of the elegant double curves of the original Aronde.
