The Fine Jewelry Making Process
The fine jewelry making process at C. Blackburn Jewelers begins with an initial friendly meeting, where we will chat about the engagement ring or other fine jewelry you would like made.
At this first meeting, Carl will look at any jewelry photos you may have saved to your phone, discuss possible design options and the diamonds or gemstones to be used, and how best we can turn your dream jewelry into reality at a price that matches your budget.
Carl is always sensitive to price concerns and will discuss with you the best way to maximize the beauty and elegance of your ring or fine jewelry within the price range you are looking at.
After you and Carl have decided upon a design, 3D CAD drawings will be made for you to approve or to request adjustments. Once the CAD drawings are approved, a wearable resin model will be made so that the look and feel of the engagement ring, necklace, or earrings can be evaluated, and (if needed) any further adjustments made.
Lastly, your fine jewelry will be cast and (if chosen) hand-crafted with accents such as engraving or milgrained edges. Your perfectly completed ring or jewelry will then be delivered, ready to be presented to your loved one in Encinitas.
The entire process, starting from your first meeting, is usually about 4 weeks. However, in some cases (depending on the item that is being made) delivery can be made much faster.
